We went back to the Dublin, Ohio Irish Festival and it was as brilliant as it has always been.
We told some yarns, taught some history, met a lot of folks, and sold a few books. That’s what we do.
We must have done something right – we even got invited to the wrap party! Our dogs, unfortunately, did not.
As you see, we didn’t walk much while in Dublin.
We also ran into our good friends from Connla at the Dublin Irish Festival, and enjoyed several of their sets. We met few members of this band at the Milwaukee Irish Festival, before there was such a band. We also saw them perform in Armagh at the Kennedy Piping Festival in 2015, which as I recall, was shortly after the band was formed. The band members are from Armagh and Derry in Northern Ireland.
Check out the Connla website. You’ll note that they’ve been winning a whole lot of awards. You can listen to a few of their tunes.
