Ocean Shores, Washington 2019
We’re back, after a two year hiatus!
We told stories at the Celtic Music Feis in 2014, 2015 and 2016, but not the last two years. Frankly, we missed it and are glad to be back. The 2019 festival was October 15th through 20th.
The taskmasters at Galway Bay Irish Pub scheduled us for eight hours of storytelling – starting Wednesday and ending Saturday.
We made a promise to ourselves NOT to tell the same story twice, meaning that we needed eight hours of stories. We dug deep into our repertoire, and even came up with a few more.
And we did it – eight hours on stage in Ocean Shores without repeating a story!
We also did something unusual for the ClanDonnell storytelling entourage. We typically drive everywhere and anywhere, and we a pushing a million miles or so on our Subaru Outback. We had, in fact, driven from Michigan to New Mexico for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and a visit with family. We then left our book tour dog in ABQ and flew to Seattle, rented a car to Ocean Shores. After the Celtic Music Feis, we drove the rental back to Seattle, flew to Albuquerque, picked up the book tour dogs, said goodbye to our New Mexico clan, and drove to Michigan.
Such is the life of a seanchi.
