Dublin, Ohio
The Dublin Irish Festival is a GO for 2021, at least thus far. It will NOT be set up exactly as it was in 2019 (and it was virtual in 2020). But the festival folks are going through the planning and much remains to be done.
The BUT and the IF.
But if everything goes to plan, and if the virus numbers decline between then and now, ClanDonnell will be there. A change in format doesn’t bother us, and we do not expect 2021 to be the same as 2019. We would love to return to Dublin, and love to perform before a live audience.
Looking forward to August 6th, 7th and 8th in Dublin!
April, 2021 Update
The Dublin Irish Festival, as a full festival at the city’s Coffman Park, is cancelled. It is replaced in 2021 with Dublin Irish Days during the same weekend. It will consist of a variety of events at several locations. But it will NOT include a venue or time slot for storytelling, or a venue for authors.
Thus, ClanDonnell will miss the Dublin Irish Festival two years in a row. I have no quarrels with this, since the city and the festival organizers will be doing the best that they can in a very difficult situation.
The good news is that we’ve been invited to the 2022 festival – August 5th through 7th.
