San Antonio, Texas – March, 2014

Lion & Rose British Restaurant & Pub has four pubs and restaurants in and around San Antonio, and a traditional red double-decker bus to connect them all. One can have a pub crawl without ever leaving the Lion & Rose system!

Lion & Rose bills itself as a British/Irish pub and restaurant, and that was good enough for us. We spent two evenings at Lion & Rose on Broadway and had a great time both nights. Got in a few stories as well, to anyone who would listen. We did not have a chance to ride in the double decker bus, though. Otherwise two great meals and several pints of Guinness.

The bus, by the way, is authentic. It is a 1968 vintage and originally used in Bristol, England. ClanDonnell might skip the pubs the next time we are in San Antonio, and set up shop in the bus. Especially if the wait staff joins me on the tour!
