Pittsburgh Irish Festival

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The programmers at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival must have like our performance in 2014, since they invited us back for 2015. The festival was September 11, 12, and 13th and ClanDonnell was at the Hedge School once again.

The festival at the Riverplex in Pittsburgh featured some of our favorite bands – Gaelic Storm, Screaming Orphans, Makem & Spain, Red Hot Chili Pipers, the Willis Clan, and more.

On Saturday, we told The Feast, an entertaining tale from the Ulster Cycle. On Sunday, we told Becoming King, a story or two about competitions between king wannabes. All of these are 2,000 or 3,000 year old stories, brought back to life by ClanDonnell. The tent was packed both days. We loved it.

It was a rainy couple of days at the PIttsburgh Irish Festival. The torrential rain made the festival field a huge mud pit. But the festival crowd made it a wonderful festival yet again!

The festival spelled our name wrong on the performers badge – we added the “Mc” with a good Sharpie.
