St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Traverse City, Michigan

The Traverse City St. Patrick’s Day Parade features (drum roll) David McDonnell as Grand Marshall!!!

We are humbled by our selection as Grand Marshall of Traverse City’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We were not certain at first what that means. We discovered it means:

I got to wear a sash,

AND I got to walk the parade and shake hands (and hive five) the folks along the route,

AND Mrs. ClanDonnell drove a new car in the parade (no one bothered to check her driving record).

The parade started and ended at the State Street Grille. This was also the site of the pre-parade and post-parade festivities. We think we will start our bar tab there at about 11:00 am.

The parade is sponsored by the Grand Traverse County Dun Brady Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The parade day, by the way, is one of the two High Holy Days of the Hibernians. The other, of course, is St. Patrick’s Day.

The folks at Traverse City’s AOH were so nice, we gave $10 of each book sale on parade day (and at the AOH meetings) to the Father Fred Foundation.
