Suttons Bay Bingham District Library

Suttons Bay, Michigan

We visited Suttons Bay Bingham District Library on January 11th. We discussed ClanDonnell: A Storied History of Ireland, why it was written, the adventure of the research, Irish naming practices, and the early Celts. It was quite interactive, with an interested and questioning audience. It was entirely old-school, since we couldn’t get any electronics to work.

Thanks to Suttons Bay High School for publicizing the event on bulletin of community events. Ditto to Leelanau Montessori public school academy and to Grand Traverse Insider.

If you haven’t been to Suttons Bay, you’re missing out. It’s a beautiful little town in the summer, and it’s not so bad other times of the year. The library posted a photo of a snowy owl on its Facebook site – the photo was taken a few days before our gig outside of the library.

You do have to be careful in Suttons Bay in January. The community has had more than its fair share of Yeti sightings. They even celebrate Yeti Fest every January.
