The falcons of County Antrim, Ireland, were prized by royalty and nobility throughout Europe.

ClanDonnell: A Storied History of Ireland tells the story of these falcons, including some intriguing negotiations between the head of the clan and the British king. We told this story at the Aztec Highland Games and Celtic Festival. And we had two falcons as props!

The live falcons were a bigger hit than the story, and attracted incredible traffic to the ClanDonnell tent. The falcons are in training by biologist and falconer Octavio Cruz Carreterro, shown in the photographs.
